Parenting Unplugged

Parenting a teenager needs a different approach.

As children enter their teenage years, conversations change. They want more independence. Emotions can become intense. Phones and digital distractions enter almost every part of their lives. And the parenting methods that worked when they were younger may suddenly lead to arguments, shutdowns or resistance.

About the workshop

A live session for parents of teenagers.

Parenting Unplugged is a live online workshop designed for parents of 13+ year olds who want a calmer, more confident way to navigate the teenage years.

In this practical one-hour session, we will focus on three areas that often create the most tension at home: emotional strength, healthier boundaries and better conversations.

You will learn practical ways to understand what may be happening behind your teenager’s behaviour, respond to difficult emotions without immediately reacting, set boundaries without turning everything into a power struggle, and create conversations where your teenager feels more comfortable opening up.

Workshop highlights

What you will take away.

  • Understand why your teenager’s behaviour and communication are changing
  • Help your teenager handle difficult emotions more independently
  • Respond to anger, shutdowns and emotional reactions more calmly
  • Set healthier boundaries around phones, friends, routines and independence
  • Reduce unnecessary arguments and power struggles
  • Build better conversations without lecturing or interrogating
  • Know when to support your teenager and when to let them solve a problem themselves
  • Start shifting from controlling decisions to preparing your teenager for independence

The shift

This is not about becoming a perfect parent or having a perfectly behaved teenager.

It is about understanding the parenting shift that happens during the teenage years—and learning practical tools that can help you stay connected while gradually preparing your child to manage themselves.

Because the goal of parenting a teenager is not to remain in control.

It is to prepare them for the day when you won’t be.
